What's going wrong
Several site owners set up Google reCAPTCHA with valid keys and saw no widget on forms or pages where it was configured. One owner who chose the checkbox style got a math puzzle instead. Owners on standard WordPress sites with no special setup found the plugin did nothing useful after install, and they could not see why the widget was missing. The lack of a visible diagnostic makes these failures hard to trace. A setup checker that renders each form and reports which hooks or pages actually show the captcha would help site owners.
