What's going wrong
Site owners report that the SoundCloud Shortcode plugin stops working or crashes after WordPress upgrades, and that it lacks support for newer PHP releases. Several say it has not been updated for many years and ask whether anyone still maintains it. Some reviewers also want more playlist and formatting options. Because the plugin has been abandoned, people who rely on it for embeds on busy sites must choose between staying on old software and losing their players. A maintained alternative, or a clear adoption path, would give these owners confidence.
